Health Promotion In Reach
Groundswells Peer Advocates and In Reach volunteers run sessions in hostels and day centres to share messages about good health, support people to navigate the health system and refer them for Homeless Health Peer Advocacy where needed.
Sessions may also be run thematically such as women’s health, Mental Health and Wellbeing. Often our peers invite health professionals to join them to speak with people about their service or self care.
Information for Action
Groundswell believes that it is important that people who are experiencing homelessness are aware of and able to act on the findings of its peer research on health matters. That’s why we develop ‘Action Guides’ targeted at people using services. These are distributed through our ‘In Reach’ sessions and via our partners.
Our Action Guides can be found here.
