Groundswell are working with NHS England to understand the impact of COVID-19 on people who are homeless. This will help to inform how the NHS and other services respond to COVID-19 for people who are homeless. If you are street homeless, living in a hotel, hostel or ‘sofa surfing’ we want to hear from you.
Groundswell and their #HealthNow partners are delivering research to explore the impact of COVID-19 on people experiencing homelessness. The research aims to ensure the voices of people who are homeless are heard and are utilised to inform the ongoing response to COVID-19 both locally and nationally. Find out more about the research so far.
How can you be involved?
We’re looking for people who are or have experienced any form of homelessness during COVID-19 to give us first-hand experience on what is happening. This insight will be used to inform the ongoing response on a local and national level, including the response of NHS England. We’re looking for people to:
- Give telephone interviews: doing a telephone interview with one of our research team over the phone. You will be asked a series of questions to help understand what is happening for them. You will receive a £5 shopping voucher as a thank you for their time.
- Share your experiences through messages and photos: you can share your stories though text, video or leaving messages through our dedicated line. We will contact you via text message and ask if you would like to feed into particular themes or share experiences on different topics. We will reimburse you for the credit used to contact us.
- Become a mobile reporter: We can offer training and support to for you to report on what is happening in their local community. Training will be delivered remotely through mobile phones. You will be assigned a mentor through the process. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
