Application deadline: 22nd July at 2pm

Groundswell is seeking two workers with lived experience of homelessness and/or mental health challenges and accessing mental health services for the role of Peer Support Caseworker (PSC). The role would be managed by Groundswell but based in the Homelessness Prevention Initiative (HPI) within the Joint Homelessness Team (JHT), a multi-disciplinary community mental health service that works with people who sleep rough in Westminster and who have a mental illness. The PSC’s will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance in order for people to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery journey.

The PSC’s will work as care navigators by supporting service users who are either homeless at the time of admission, or have tenancies at risk. They will assist with all practical aspects of securing and maintaining accommodation, including obtaining relevant ID, applying for benefits and ensuring that accommodation is habitable for discharge. For service users with no Westminster connections, the PSC will be supporting people in deciding to reconnect with their place of origin, and accompanying them to meetings with embassies and the Home Office.
